This category of Retro Swing, Crooner and Harmony Vocal Groups presents 'newer' sound material covered in the feel and mood of nostalgia. Many talents already had been around in the early 1980s, trying out some vintage sounds with vintage equipment in the style of 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s music, Swing and Crooner style, sometimes even mixed with up-to-date Pop music. Good examples are The Star Sisters from the Dutch hit-factory 'Stars on 45'.

Or the concept album project 'Full Swing', or even the crossover albums with a retro Swing basis by Jools Holland. The biggest hype around this music was created by the head of the Stray Cats, Brian Setzer. Setzer started a worldwide retro Swing wave by the mid-1990s that continues to the present day. The Brian Setzer Orchestra issues at least one brand new album per year, best-produced and of highest quality and technical standards. Many jumped up and surfed the same wave to catch a bit of Setzer's success. Even rockers like Rod Stewart found ways to start crooning. And then there's Michael Bublé in the style of the original Las Vegas crooners Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, and Dean Martin. One is barely able to explain these music styles in just a few words - well, you better give it a listen! There are many streams and influences and many bands and artists .
