The singer and songwriter Wolfgang Rieck (formerly Piatkowski & Rieck, Liederjan) was born in Mecklenburg and now lives in the Baltic Sea resort of Nienhagen. After several LPs / CDs with Low German songs, audio books, CDs with duo partners and music recordings for children, he now presents his 3rd solo CD entitled "Give and Take" after 5 years of work. 14 songs - mainly from his own pen - are gathered on this production.

In addition, the CD contains settings of texts by Theodor Kramer and Willi Sagert. For a given occasion, the anti-war song "Der Graben" by Kurt Tucholsky / Hans Eisler has also found its place on this disc in a new musical arrangement. Cellist Jens Naumilkat has contributed six very artistic arrangements. Pianist Jürgen Beyer is responsible for two arrangements.

Long-time friend, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist Karl Heinz Saleh is to be thanked - in addition to several of his own arrangements - for the elaborate production of these recordings. 23 guest musicians such as brass, woodwind, string quartet, various soloists have ensured with their mastery that the listener finds a multicolored, very varied acoustic appearance.
