Nonesuch releases the first self-produced album of the Punch Brothers, 'All Ashore'. The work contains nine new songs written by the band, including 'It's All Part of the Plan'. All Ashore' follows the 2015 release of T Bone Burnett's critically acclaimed album 'The Phosphorescent Blues'. Once again, the quintet - guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjo player Noam Pikelny, mandolinist and lead singer Chris Thile and violinist Gabe Witcher - came together to make a rhyme for the world that surrounds them.

The album is 'a reflection on binding relations in today's world, especially in the current political climate', says Thile. For the recordings, the Punch Brothers returned to the same room at United Recording Studios in Hollywood (formerly Ocean Way) where they had already recorded The Phosphorescent Blues and their Jon Brion-produced album Antifogmatic (2010). The familiar setting also gave them the confidence to produce the album themselves, a premiere in the band's twelve-year history.
