Originally released in November 1970, ‘Elvis: That's The Way It Is’ brought together eight studio tracks recorded in Nashville and four live performances that ELVIS played as part of his 1970 ‘Summer Festival’ engagement at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. Elvis was in charge and had big plans - including a movie and studio time in Nashville. When Elvis arrived at Studio B at RCA in Nashville on June 4, 1970, producer Felton Jarvis had put together a hot new session band featuring guitar legend James Burton. Five nights produced recordings for no less than three future albums and four singles, including ‘Elvis: That's The Way It Is’. This brand new 4LP version focuses on a show at the International Hotel that was recorded and partially filmed by MGM. These recordings appear here in their entirety for the first time. The original RCA album is expanded with four tracks from the period and a selection of outtakes from the sessions in Nashville, from which most of the tracks originate. The audio has been remastered and packaged in a triple gatefold sleeve. The booklet features rare photos and brand new liner notes.
