Heli von Westrem was more than friends with Elvis Presley during his service as G.I. She gives us an insight into her life at that time. She does not want to watch the partly hair-raising legend formation any longer inactive. Heli takes us with him and Elvis to Goethestraße 14, to the Friedberger Kaserne and to Paris. An alleged kidnapping of Elvis on the Johannisberg triggered an influx of fan letters to her. Some of them are contained in the book. - Helis' memories and the letters are a mirror of that time.
Elvis and Heli loved each other in the late 50's during his military service in Germany. Startum, love, Rock 'n' Roll, thirst for freedom and the post-war period characterize Heli von Westrems autobiography. Author Heli von Westrem was born as Heli Priemel on 28.6.1943 in Potsdam-Babelsberg (Ufa-Stadt); in 1945 she fled to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and then on to Frankfurt am Main. Heli von Westrem took part in many movies of her parents. In 1957 she was the first model of a fashion show of the fashion house Pfüller. In 1959 she appeared on 1st German Television as "Annabell" in Hans Joachim Kulenkampff's advice programme "Sieben auf einen Streich" (Seven in one go) with the then pop star Willy Hagara. In May of the same year her relationship with Elvis Presley began. From 1961 onwards she perfected her language skills with stays abroad in England, Spain and France. She received her Cambridge diploma in London. Heli von Westrem worked as an assistant director at the Hessischer Rundfunk. From 1964 she was a stewardess with Air France. One year after Elvis' wedding, in 1968, she married Rolf Staguhn, an outstanding tennis player whose playing quality was comparable to that of Boris Becker. Both have their birthdays on the same day. In the 70s, Heli von Westrem opened a boutique together with her sister. This was followed by appearances as a model and as a presenter at fashion shows. In 1978 she met Rudolf Constantin, a gifted opera singer who looked like Elvis and who, like Elvis, enchanted women in his genre, the opera. In 1982 Heli and Rudolf Constantin got married.
