From the Mississippi Delta to Chicago

After the EPs Shame On You, Mr. Trump (2019), I Can't Breathe and Extraordinary Times (both 2020), Natural Blues presents Elementary Power, their first album. The elemental power of this diverse "disc" takes you on a musical journey from archaic Delta blues played on dobro, upright bass and acoustic blues harp to electric Chicago blues and modern blues rock.

Natural Blues is the blues formation founded by Norbert Egger in Hamburg in 1982. Originally conceived as a "side project", the band with its extremely varied power blues and extroverted show has, however, developed into a main act.

After the death of founding member and outstanding blues harp player Heiko Petcke in 2017, Norbert Egger (guitar and vocals) re-formed and enlarged the band. During the re-formation, Alex Meik (double bass), Hubert Hofherr (blues harp) and Stefan Schubert (guitar and vocals) joined the band.

Musically, the band presents blues from all eras of its history, from the earliest country blues on acoustic instruments to the blues of the 1920s, Mississippi Delta blues, Chicago blues and current blues rock. At the live performances Natural Blues offers an extraordinary performance: it is rousing and entertaining when bandleader Norbert Egger lets his jacket fly across the stage, slides on his knees or lies down to let his slide guitar whoop, Hubert Hofherr lets the blues harp "burn", Stefan Schubert conjures up his brilliant solos on the parquet or the whole troupe integrates the audience as a big background choir.
