Gurf Morlix rings in the new year with MELT INTO YOU, his latest collection of handmade songs. The album contains songs that deal with the quirky side of love (Switchblade Smile, Spare Change, Melt Into You), but also with melancholy and sadness (Beautiful Sad Face, Nothin' Burns Like the Cold, In the Name of Love). The remaining three songs are philosophical in nature (Last Days of the Dinosaur, Sand, A Meaningless Life) and make metaphorical observations with humor and warning.
The instrumentation is as you would expect from Gurf Morlix, which means you should expect the unexpected. Besides the songwriting, which is as compelling as a suspenseful novel, each song has a different instrumental approach and sound, like tasting exotic food in an as yet unfamiliar restaurant. Admirers of Gurf's musicianship will not be disappointed. And if you're a fan of the creaking and jingling percussion instruments and special effects, you'll find them here too.
