The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Kid Andersen atGreaseland in San Jose, California, a studio closely associated with the contemporary West Coast blues scene. The production gives the songs a warm, powerful and organic sound while keeping the focus firmly on Mischo’s vocals, harmonica and songwriting.

“Everybody’s Gettin’ Some” features ten tracks, including the title song, “California Burning”, “Gulf of Mexico”, “Hawaiian Eye”, “Tossing Pebbles”, “Burning Bridges”, “Jealous Hearted Fool” and “Twin Cities Blues”. According to the album credits, eight of the songs were written by R.J. Mischo, while “Keep Your Friends Close” was written by Logan Davis and “Hawaiian Eye” by Jerry Livingston.

R.J. Mischo has been an important figure in the American blues scene for decades. Originally connected with the Minneapolis blues community, he developed a reputation as a powerful vocalist, songwriter and harmonica player with extensive stage experience.
