With “The Dawn Anew Is Comin’ & From Books And Dreams,” Message’s seminal work is being reissued in a comprehensive edition. The German-British band is among the most exciting representatives of the early Krautrock and progressive rock scene of the 1970s and combined hard rock energy with experimental openness. Their debut album, “The Dawn Anew Is Comin’” (1972), produced by Peter Hauke and recorded at Dieter Dierks’ studio, impressed listeners with its distinctive sound—featuring powerful guitars, striking brass, and a progressive structure.

With Allan “Taff” Freeman (Nektar) as a guest, the album gained additional sonic depth. The second album, *From Books And Dreams* (1973), builds on this approach and expands it with Krautrock-style intensity and experimental elements. Here, Message emerges as a matured band with greater sonic density and heightened dynamics.

This remastered double CD in a digisleeve brings together both albums, including bonus material, and documents a band that carved out its own unique niche between British prog and the German rock avant-garde.
