Reba McEntire will release her companion album to her upcoming book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots, due October 6. All songs are stripped down/acoustic versions of some of their biggest hits and were produced by Grammy award winning producer Dave Cobb. It will also include 3 new classic Stripped Down/acoustic songs that have never been released before, as well as a brand new song - "Seven Minutes in Heaven".

Was der Mutter vorbehalten blieb, die Tochter hat`s geschafft. Reba McEntire gehört schon seit ein paar Jahren zu jenem großen Dreigestirn „Ricky Skaggs, Reba McEntire, George Strait“, das stellvertretend für eine ganze Reihe junger, talentierter Stars die sogenannten „Traditionalisten“ repräsentiert. Es sind Künstler, die auf der Tradition aufbauend eine moderne Country Music produzieren und dabei ihre volle Identität bewahren. Die Fiddle und das Banjo werden genauso zu Soli herangezogen wie die Steel Guitar oder die Mandoline. Vermieden werden Pop-Arrangements und elektronische Klänge. Naturmusik ist angesagt und das Country-Feeling ist präsent. Und Reba McEntire macht kompromisslose Country Music. Von Red Steagall war sie 1974 entdeckt worden, 1975 hatten sie ihren ersten Plattenvertrag bei Mercury, doch erst der Wechsel zu MCA machte aus ihr einen Superstar. 1984, 1985, 1986 und 1987 wurde sie von der CMA zur besten Sängerin des Jahres gewählt.
