Jimmy McCracklin became a rock 'n' roll star during the late 1950s. After his Hot 100 hit 'The Walk' in 1958, McCracklin signed with Mercury Records. That memorable chapter in the pianist's lengthy and prolific career is captured in fabulous detail on 'The Mercury Recordings,' presenting three blistering dance workouts like his original Georgia Slop, The Wobble, and Let's Do It (The Chicken Scratch). He wasn't on Mercury for long, but his brief stint makes for exciting listening.
