Produced by Lindeville collaborator and producer John Osborne (Brothers Osborne) and recorded with her live band, Wild traces a captivating narrative that culminates in the moment just before McBryde quit drinking. “When people hear this record, I hope it wakes up the part of them that I’m singing about—the part that still believes in those unrealized dreams and untaken risks,” says McBryde. “I believe that wild little kid is still alive inside of all of us, and that’s the version of everyone that I want to sing to.”

McBryde wurde in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, aufgezogen. Mit drei Jahren zupfte sie heimlich die Gitarre ihres Vaters wie ein Kontrabass, und nach etwa 17 Jahren kaufte ihr Vater ihr eine eigene Gitarre. Als sie zwölf Jahre alt war, spielte sie ihren Eltern und Großeltern ihre allererste Komposition vor. Es war am Arkansas Zustand, als, während ein Mitglied des marschierenden Bandes, McBryde schließlich anfing, ihre Stimme mit anderen zu teilen, und schließlich nach Nashville 2007 umzog, in dem ständig ein Stromkreis der Tauchenstäbe, der Biker hangouts und der bunten Verbindungen kämpfend, um ihre Liede hören zu lassen.

Ihre erste EP, die selbstveröffentlichte 2016 Jalopies and Expensive Guitars, war nur ein Vorgeschmack auf das, was McBryde kann, und bei ihrem Debüt in voller Länge wird sie ihre Songwriting Chops mit der Vision des Produzenten Jay Joyce verschmelzen und ihre Geschichten mit einem Hauch von gitarrengetriebenem Rockwut aufpeppen. McBryde hat keine Angst, die Wahrheit zu sagen, roh und echt zu werden und die Geister von Country, Folk und Rock zu benutzen, wenn es ihrem größeren Zweck dient. Und das ist, um die Geschichten zu erzählen, die uns erschüttern, uns machen und uns ein wenig mehr darüber erzählen, wie es ist, ein Mensch zu sein.
