Musician and singer-songwriter Iain Matthews really needs no introduction. He was a member of the legendary folk-rock band Fairport Convention from 1967 to 1969 before forming Matthews Southern Comfort, which scored a number one hit in the UK in 1970 with Joni Mitchell 's Woodstock. In the early 1970s, Iain not only recorded solo for Vertigo and Elektra, but also played in the folk rock supergroup Plainsong. With this body of work, Iain established himself as a master of his own songs and those of others - a tradition he has continued over the decades.
This 6-CD box set includes the four original albums from this period, Stealin' Home, Siamese Friends, Spot Of Interference and Shook, as well as a wealth of previously unreleased material from Iain's own archive and from the collections of fans worldwide. Iain's 1978 BBC In Concert special is officially released on CD for the first time; otherwise, there is a wealth of live and demo material that will delight even the greatest admirers of Matthews' music.
