Who was/is Atlantis ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Hamburger Gruppe mit starken Blues- und Rockeinflüssen. Sängerin Inga Rumpf (geboren 2.8.1948 in Hamburg) ist die Chefin und der Star. Ihre Stimme prägt wesentlich den Stil der Gruppe und den Sound. 1965 begann die frühere Dekorateurin ihre Karriere in der Hamburger Folkband City Preachers, als diese sich 1970 auflösten, gründete sie mit ihrem Freund, dem Bassisten Karl-Heinz Schott (geboren 10. 6.1946 in Hamburg) Frumpy. Nach 2 Jahren entstand daraus Atlantis. Trotz großen Erfolges- auch im Ausland- wurde die Gruppe bis heute nicht mit personellen Schwierigkeiten fertig. Immer wieder wechselten die Musiker. Randy-Pie-Organist Jean-Jaques Kravetz gehörte einmal dazu, auch gab Udo Lindenberg ein kurzes Gastspiel. Zur Zeit spielen in der Band Schlagzeuger Ringo Funk (geboren 4.7.1945 in Eisenach), Organist Adrian Askew (geboren 31. 3.1947 in Sheffield - England), der Berliner Sologitarrist Frank Diez (geboren 2.11.1950 in Berlin, war früher schon einmal bei Atlantis) und Gitarrist Rainer Marz. Im Sommer 1975 nahm Inga Rumpf eine Solo-LP mit deutschen Texten auf: „Second-Hand Mädchen'. Im Frühjahr spielte die Gruppe auch 3 Monate in den USA. Original Presse-Info: Phonogram GmbH
