After a brief recording career in the 1920s, bluesman Walter E. "Furry" Lewis spent much of his adult life living outside the music business.

With the revival of the blues in the late sixties, Lewis' career was revived, and his legendary status was confirmed. This 13-track set was recorded live at the Gaslight in NYC's Greenwich Village in September 1971 and is his CD debut.
