Miranda Lambert Palomino (2-LP)

For more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert has been a fixture on the US country music scene. In 2022 the singer and musician releases her new album Palomino.

Palomino is already her tenth studio album and ninth solo album, the follow-up to 2019's Wildcard, which made it to number four on the US Billboard 200, and her collaboration album The Marfa Tapes with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall, released in 2021, respectively.

Back in 2020, Lambert began writing songs on her farm in Tennessee with Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby. She eventually recorded a total of 15 songs for the new record, co-writing 14 of them, with the remaining song being a cover of Mick Jagger's Wandering Spirit, the title track from the Rolling Stones frontman's 1993 solo album of the same name. The songs In His Arms, Waxahachie and Geraldene had already appeared on The Marfa Tapes, but as acoustic versions. For Palomino, the songs were re-recorded. Miranda Lambert also took care of the production herself, with support from Luke Dick and Jon Randall.

Lambert about working on Palomino: "Making this album was one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career. Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby and I went to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs. We figured while we still had time, we should go to the country and see what happens. The first song we wrote was 'Tourist,' and that set us on the path to writing something with a certain theme. Since we couldn't travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through the songs. I hope you're ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories."
