Gregory Isaacs, a in his native Jamaica, has a distinct and individual voice that weaves in and out of melody. In his new album for 2b1 Records, It Go So, he stands out as a remarkable songwriter, delivering songs with a soulful, sexy style while remaining vulnerable. At the same time, he shows his social conscience and protests against the political injustice of his country. This album has the qualities of some of Gregory Isaac's biggest hits like Night Nurse and Red Rose for Gregory. On the first track Never Knew Love, he shows his sensitive side with tears of love while the base pulses hypnotically. In Don't Go he shows the kel of past albums, asking them not to go. False Evidence and Rat Patrol show the pain he feels to the General Penitentiary, a horrific prison in Kingston with a reputation for cruelty, and opression.
