Ironing Board Sam is an American blues keyboarder, singer and songwriter.He owes his nickname to the simple fact that he likes to be mounted his keyboard for performances on an ironing board. His career began in the late 50s On 'Super Spirit' he played together with Jimbo Mathus, drummer Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees) and bassist Stu Cole (Squirrel Nut Zippers). They used the Ironing Board Sam Singles of the 60s and 70s as their inspiration. In addition, they sought out the repertoire of Ann Peebles, The Gories, Jimbo Mathus, Jack Oblivian and Roy Hawkins.
