Gitte Haenning: Songs For My Father (CD)

1-CD with 24-page booklet, 16 tracks, playing time 72:51 minutes. With a concert for the 80th birthday of her father Otto Haenning, Gitte picked up in February 1997, at the Komische Oper in Berlin, where her legendary 1968 jazz album with the Clarke-Boland Big Band had left off. Gitte swings with the Rolf von Nordenskjöld Big Band through a hand-picked programme. When father Otto struck up the children's song 'Ole Bole Bom' with his daughter Gitte, the concert turned into an emotional 'family affair'. 'Bild' newspaper: 'The Komische Oper trembled because of the Danes.'
