It's a straightforward country-rock album featuring ten new songs co-written with his partners Scott Sellen and Jim Mason, as well as two well-deserved re-recordings of songs from his time with Buffalo Springfield and Poco. From “Heartbeat of Love” emerges a sound that not only revives the sound of his early days in Greenwich Village and Buffalo Springfield, but also evolves the long-neglected and influential genre of country rock. While some bands have sold their musical soul to major record labels and turned to commercial rock, Richie Furay remains an independent artist who is free to experiment with new approaches to country rock.
