We, the Feldmann showman family,
have now been active in the traditional carny trade for several generations. Shortly after the 2nd World War Alma Feldmann had the caterpillar track built in 1947 according to her own plans at the Dortmund locomotive factory 'Orenstein & Koppel'. For the first time the caterpillar was set up in Warendorf for the Ascension Day Fair. (Original record text, 2007)

Gegründet 1969, bestehen sie heute aus 5 Mitgliedern: Franz Willi Halmich, geb. 10.1.1944, spielt Orgel, Piano und Baritonsaxophon. Manfred Friedrich Durban, geb. 28.9.1944, ist mit Trompete, Posaune und Schlagzeug dabei. Roland Bausert, geb. 17.1.1944, betätigt Geige, Gitarre und singt. Olaf Malolepski, geb. 1946, spielt Gitarre, textet, komponiert und arrangiert. Bernd Hengst, geb. 18.4.1947, Gitarre und Schlagzeug. Die Flippers hatten mit „Weine nicht, kleine Eva' 1969 ihren ersten großen Hit. Von vielen wegen der überaus schnulzigen Titel, die auf die Tränendrüsen drükken, verspottet oder sogar geächtet, gehören sie doch zu den erfolgreichsten Gruppen der BRD: Für mehr als 3 Mill. verkaufter Platten innerhalb der letzten 5 Jahre erhielten sie eine Platin-Schallplatte.
