New Orleans funk powerhouse Dumpstaphunk release their new album "Where Do We Go From Here" on Mascot's sublabel The Funk Garage. It is the band's first album in seven years and undoubtedly the strongest and most political of their career. Previously released singles include Justice 2020, recently named one of the best songs of 2020 by The New York Times, and the thoughtful title track "Where Do We Go From Here."

The band's arsenal of classical and modern influences is wonderfully on display here. It's a distinctive blend of true New Orleans funk, old school R&B and guitar-heavy modern rock; from the slap-bass rave "Make It After All" to contemporary interpretations of NOLA R&B rarities (the 1975 Blackmail gem "Let's Get At It") and early seventies classics (Sly and the Family Stone's "In Time").

On the cover version of Buddy Miles' Hendrix-inspired "United Nations Stomp" from 1973, special guest rising blues guitar phenom Marcus King comes up with a blistering guitar solo. Without a doubt, the record represents a relevant statement. An absolute must for all fans of modern funk!!!
