RIFF - that relentless melody that grabs you by the throat and just won't let go! You sing it in the shower as you start your day, and then again as you drive your car - slapping the steering wheel as you dance down the road. The song accompanies you throughout the day and even kisses you goodnight. And in the morning, this riff wakes you up and wants to have morning coffee with you! That's what this album is all about - the RIFF! Riffin' The Blue consists of a series of songs (as always with Tas Cru - original songs), all based on a melodic guitar hook of their own - also known as the RIFF. The album was produced by Tas, who enlisted the help of a few others, notably Mike Zito (of Gulf Coast Records) and renowned keyboardist Bruce Katz, in addition to his trusted studio collaborators. Zito puts his guitar stamp on two songs - the album's opener/title track and closing track Memphis Gone. Katz contributes his world-class piano and organ talent to ten of the album's eleven songs.
