Rediscovered, never released album by CCR drummer featuring vocals by Bobby Whitlock (Derek & The Dominos). Doug "Cosmo" Clifford, the iconic Creedence drummer, has a treasure trove of unreleased recordings he's produced over the years, all of which are kept safe in Cosmo's Vault.

That summer he finally rediscovered his long-lost album California Gold. It features Bobby Whitlock as lead vocalist singing 10 original songs he and Cosmo co-wrote. The band slams in, with Cosmo on drums, Bobby on B3, piano and guitar, Donald 'Duck' Dunn and Tom Miller on bass, and alternating guitarists David Vega and Mike O'Neill. The songs are a combination of roots rock and melodic blues. Whitlock, the singer, keyboardist for Derek and the Dominos, is on top form. And Cosmo's drumming is rock solid and goes beyond his well-known Creedence grooves. For some reason, California Gold somehow went under. But now that the album has been rediscovered, maybe its time is here and now.
