geb. 11. 8. 1946 in Versailles - Kentucky Record Labels: ABC, MCA, Columbia Erster Top Ten Hit: Rose Colored Glasses (1978) Erster No. 1 Hit: Lady Lay Down (1979) John Conlee, ein Sänger mit einem markanten Phlegma in der Stimme, schlug 1978 gleich mit einem Top Ten Erfolg im Country Business ein. Der ehemalige Bestattungsunternehmer Conlee war durch Freunde aus der Country Music Szene nach Nashville gekommen. Der Weg war dadurch auch sehr rasch geebnet und der Schallplattenvertrag mit ABC, die wenig später von MCA übernommen wurde, hat sich reichlich bezahlt gemacht. John Conlee gehört nach wie vor zur ersten Garnitur in Nashville. Ein Auftritt in Freddy Quinn's Country Time hat ihn auch dem deutschen Fernsehpublikum bekannt gemacht."
