Eva Cassidy's “Walkin' After Midnight” collection is literally a ticket back to Eva's random Western Swing Night. A small gig at the King of France Tavern in downtown Annapolis. On November 2, 1995, two months before her now famous Live At Blues Alley recordings. When two of Eva's usual four bandmates were unavailable, she improvised with an impromptu invitation to musician friend Bruno Nasta. True to the old adage “less is more”, the resulting combination of violin, lead guitar and bass together with Eva's acoustic guitar created a happy alternative context for some of Eva's most popular repertoire pieces. Dancing in the space created by the absence of additional instruments, Eva's vocals are as joyful and free as they've ever been. Although 11 of the 12 songs (all but Down Home Blues) appear on existing Eva albums, all 12 tracks are previously unreleased.
