Highly influential blues and rhythm & blues singer and pianist, born September 13, 1922 in Texas City, Texas, USA, died January 21, 1999 in Oakland, California, USA.
Brown began his career as a singer and pianist in Johnny Moore's Three Blazers in the mid-1940s and continued to make countless records, his last album for Verve being released in 1998.
In 1999 he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame (Early Influence).
