The Texander Wade Bowen impresses with his great voice, melodic songs, his creative vein and level works.

With Somewhere Between The Secret Aand The Truth he now presents his seventh studio album, which he produced himself for the first time. He had many colleagues at his side for the songwriting, such as Eric Paslay, Heather Morgan, Randy Montana, Drew Kennedy or Lori McKenna, who have already been guarantors for great songs on countless CDs in my collection.

The album shows Bowen then again in top form. Ten irresistible earworms, sometimes in fluffy-catchy Red Dirt manner (listen to these melodic songs like the opener Everything Has Your Memory, The Secret To This Town or Say Goodbye or in melancholic country storytelling (among others. Burnin' Both Ends Of the Bar) and with Honky Tonk Roll (with wonderful Billy Powell memory HT piano strumming and strong wah-wah slide solos) and She's Driving Me Crazy two snappy moody saloon sweepers, which also offer his rocky sides.

It's wonderful how at the end of Honky Tonk Roll he sings about the attraction of honky tonk bars to him: "... You can cuss me, you can judge me, you can hate me, you can love me, you can say I'm out of control, yeah, but I don't give a damn, I'm on a hell of a honky tonk roll."

Towards the end, he receives a musical accolade in a duet with Vince Gill, the latter of whom usually only pays his respects as a guest of top artists. A beautiful, sensitive sung by both, steel-soaked country howler this A Guitar, A Singer And A Song.

The wonderfully catchy title track Somewhere Between The Secret And The Truth, penned by him and Lori McKenna, closes another masterpiece from the Waco-born Texan. For some here in our lands he may still be an undiscovered secret, the truth is that you should deal with this Wade Bowen as soon as possible. Another great album from him!
