"Boom! Boom! Deluxe"

Boom! Boom! Deluxe

Over the past few years there has been a huge growth in the popularity of all things “Vintage” in New Zealand, Classic cars, Pin-up fashion and of course Rock'n’Roll music.

The Beginning

At the forefront of this new 'movement' are Auckland Based Boom! Boom! Deluxe, featuring founder members pin-up star and double-bass player Hettie LaBombe and her partner D.D Deluxe. The band have been constantly touring and have headlined virtually every major event over the past few years (Beach hop, Muscle Car Madness, Very Vintage Day out etc).

First releases

Boom! Boom! Deluxe are releasing their debut single “Burger and a Beer” on Feb 23rd 2018. The track is taken from their debut 6 track mini-LP, recorded in Auckland, mastered in Nashville and being released on 10" vinyl by Bear Family records in Germany on March 23^rd, 2018.

The band have a 17 date tour of New Zealand in 2017 underway, covering off all the major centres kicking off at the St Valentine’s hop in Glenfield, Auckland on Feb 17thand finishing off in Christchurch on November 10that The Rockabilly Show and Shine Festival.

The history

Boom! Boom! Deluxe was formed in November 2016 by Hettie & D.D. and were lucky enough to already be playing in another band with 'The Big Man', who has been important in the NZ music scene for decades, axeman Sammy Mantis, famed for his versatility (He also plays Gypsy jazz, Swing and Lindy Hop) was easily persuaded and within a month of forming were doing their first gigs.

The style

Boom! Boom! Deluxe creates original music with the energy and excitement of the original 1950's sound, without copying the legends of that era, putting their own modern stamp on it! Let's dance!
