- I first saw Black Raven at the beginning of the nineties and immediately I knew that these boys and I were on the same wavelength. Not only did the music convince me straightaway. but even their outfits were well thought through from the very beginning. Since then, whenever possible, I've tried to see every concert and obtain every recording. In fact, many of the Black Raven's albums and EPs are real collectors' items today.
Over the years there have been changes both to the personnel and to the music itself. They have become so musically refined that they're one of today's most sought-after acts in Europe.
Personally, I find Julian's songs excellent and the cover songs well chosen. His singing, which has somethings of the bluesy. soul sound of Charlie Rich, reminds one of Del Shannon. Further, his guitar work (which puts him in a class with Chuck Berry and Tony Vincent) is impressive and fascinating.
His new players, Jens and Bojan, have blended themselves seamlessly and perfectly into the structure of the band. I was able to book the band in their various combinations, but today's group always creates fun and harmony - not only before and after their appearance. but especially once they are on the stage.
Their joy in playing together is huge. Sometimes you truly have to pull the plug or the evening would never end!
This album will only strengthen their long-assured place in the history of Rock'n'Roll.
I was allowed to write one song on this album. which is dedicated to my great love Anja - I Feel Fine. -

In 1995, only three years after they came together, they had their first international performances in England, the mother-country of the Rock'n'Roll revival movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
