For some years now, the great swing music has been experiencing a worldwide revival. Since the early eighties Bernard Berkhout has been playing with the Swingmates on various fronts in jazz. Bernard Berkhout's Swingmates have performed with Frits Landesbergen and Rita Reys, toured extensively with Madeline Bell and won various prizes, including one at the famous North See Jazz Festival. With the band members: Jan van Duikeren (trumpet), Erik Kooger (drums), Rik van den Bergh (alto saxophone), Raymond Nijenhuis (guitar), Simon Rigter (tenor saxophone), Gregor Schafer (double bass), Erik van der Luyt, (piano) and Bernard Berkhout (clarinet/tenor saxophone). The CD is a must.
