German label Bear Family specializes in restoring the memory of blues and roc-k'n'roll of the 50's and 60's. An additional flavour to these releases is added by the fact that they are also released in a vinyl version, often only in vinyl. That's how we have this album, released in the series "Vinyl Club Exclusives". One would like to write a "black" album, but that's not entirely true, because its colour is ...pink. On the other hand, the music is a mixture of rock'n'roll and hillbilly. Its author is British drummer Tony Crombie and his The Roc-kers. The band was formed in Portsmouth in 1956, but the leader came from London and already had several years of experience playing in jazz bands, including Ronnie Scott. However, after watching several American films showing new sounds born in the USA, called rock'n'roll, he decided to go in this direction.
This album was created in 1958, and the sounds it contains, which are listened to today, do not lose their power of destruction in any way. Juicy, swinginging rock'n'roll, post-written cooperation of drums and double bass (Ashley Kozak), fiery interjections of saxophone (Red Morris) and guitar (Jimmy Currie), as well as Clyde Ray's loose singing make up a rock'n'roll feast in its earliest form, not losing its strength, despite the passage of 60 years since its creation. On the growing wave of revival of such sounds in the world, this album will certainly not only be an inspiration for the younger generation of roc-k'n'roll students, but above all it will bring joy to the generations to whom these sounds have been close for all these years. Niemiecka wytwórnia Bear Family specja-lizuje się w przywracaniu pamięci bluesa i roc-k'n'rolla lat 50. i 60. Dodatkowego smaczku tym wydawnictwom dodaje fakt, że ukazują się one także w wersji winylowej, nierzadko tylko winy-lowej. Tak mamy z tą płytą, wydaną w serii ,Vinyl Club Exclusives". Chciałoby się napisać „czarną" płytą, ale to nie do końca prawda, bo kolor jej jest ...różowy. Za to muzyka to najprzedniejszej marki mieszanka rock'n'rolla i hillbilly. Jej autorem jest brytyjski perkusista Tony Crombie i jego The Roc-kers. Zespół zawiązał się w Portsmouth w 1956 roku, ale lider pochodził z Londynu i miał już za sobą kilkuletnie doświadczenie związane z gra-niem w zespołach jazzowych, w tym u Ronniego Scotta. Po obejrzeniu jednak kilku amerykańskich filmów pokazujących rodzące się w USA nowe dźwięki zwane rock'n'rollem, postanowił pójść zdecydowanie w tym kierunku. Ta płyta powstała w 1958 roku, a zawarte na niej dźwięki słuchane dziś, w niczym nie tracą na sile rażenia. Soczysty, swingujący rock'n'roll, po-pisowa współpraca perkusji i kontrabasu (Ashley Kozak), ogniste wtręty saksofonu (Red Morris) i gitary (Jimmy Currie), a także luzacki zaśpiew Clyde'a Ray'a składają się na rock'n'rollową ucztę w najprzedniejszej postaci, nietracącej swej siły, mimo upływu 60-ciu lat od dnia jej powstania. Na rosnącej fali revivalu takich dźwięków na świecie ta płyta na pewno nie tylko będzie in-spiracją dla młodszego pokolenia adeptów roc-k'n'rolla, ale przede wszystkim sprawi radość generacjom, którym te dźwięki były bliskie przez te wszystkie lata.
