If you like noisy, earthy, intense and willingly slightly offbeat blues, you've come to the right place with Marc Amacher. This is evident at least since the last album Roadhouse - the highly explosive LP from 2019, with which this quirky musician toured successfully in several countries. After just over two years, he is making a strong comeback on the international scene and exploring the frontiers of the blues on his latest album Grandhotel.

The upward curve of this thoroughbred musician is reflected in the title of his latest album. Two years ago, the singer, guitarist and songwriter was still staying, figuratively speaking, at the Roadhouse, this famous country bar where we party every night. But above all, Roadhouse's straight and raw livetakes surprised listeners who only knew the Swiss from his rather polished and brilliant early studio productions, or from his participation in the popular TV show The Voice Of Germany in 2016.
Today, he has moved with his musicians a little further, in a large hotel with a luxurious look. One thing must be said unequivocally here: The band, which indulges in many experiments here, sounds not at all like a formal dress in a sumptuous dining room, but rather like an informal rock'n'roll party in the back shop. Marc Amacher's new music is not blues 08:15 and does not necessarily fall into a mainstream category of rock music. She is just the next step for a curious musician, in search of thrills and who prefers to venture into unknown territory rather than on the beaten track.
