geb. 1883 in Waxahachie - Texas Record Labels: Victor, Folk Variety Jules Verne Allen, auch ,The Original Singing Cowboy“ genannt, gehörte zu den ganz wenigen „echten“ Cowboys der Country Music Szene. Zwischen 1928 und 1929 nahm er insgesamt 24 Songs auf Schallplatten auf. Mit Ausnahme von 4 Titeln handelt es sich dabei um Songs, die unmittelbar das Leben des Cowboys reflektieren. In einem Genre, das fast ausschließlich den Lavendel- und Drugstore-Cowboy vermarktete, war er ,The Real Thing“.
