(2005 'Bad Daddy Records') (49:17/12) Sein viertes Album. Rusty Zinn befindet sich im musikalischen Umbruch. Nicht unähnlich jener Entwicklung, die Sven Zetterberg in Schweden durchlebt hat, verabschiedet sich Zinn vom Klischee des Bluesgitarristen und entwickelt sich zu einem ernstzunehmenden Songwriter und Sänger. Dabei reißt er stilistische Grenzen ein und präsentiert ein primär als 'Soulalbum' zu bezeichnendes Produkt. Nach wie vor lässt er sein außergewöhnliches gitarristisches Können aufblitzen; vom Material her jedoch gibt es wenig reinrassige Blues. R&B und Soul dominieren, dazu gibt es einen Reggae und einige faszinierende Bluesnummern. Ich muss sagen, der eingeschlagene Weg passt ausgezeichnet zu seiner etwas hohen Stimme und mir macht es Spaß, diese Entwicklung zu verfolgen. Für mich ein ungewöhnlich starkes Album / His fourth release. 'Zinfidelity Vol.1' shows Zinn in a period of transformation, from blues to r&b and soul. He has grown as a songwriter and arranger. Four originals are augmented by his versions of rather obscure tunes. Rusty Zinn has reinvented himself as a songwriter whose killer guitar licks and intense vocals reveal his passion for his music. Great album! RUSTY ZINN - gtr/voc, BOB WELSH - gtr, RANDY BERMUDES- bass, WALTER SALWITZ - drums, plus horns, background vocals.
