(Smithsonian Folkways Records) 14 tracks.

The first album by the American singer-songwriter, roots-rock and Americana icon was originally released in 1979. It was recorded in Mississippi in the late 1970s and features a collection of traditional folk and country standards rearranged and sung by Williams. The singer was accompanied by John Grimaudo on his six-string guitar. The production of Ramblin' On My Mind was handled by Tom Royals.

The Smithsonian Folkways label described the record at the time as follows: "The first recordings by an artist with a gift for interpreting the original blues from Robert Johnson to Memphis Minnie to the Carter Family. Williams' distinctive sound is powerfully direct and full of melancholy and passion."

Die US-amerikanische Singer / Songwriterin Folk, Alternative Country und Americana-Sängerin Lucinda Williams wurde am 26. Januar 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, geboren. Sie startete 1978 ihre Aufnahmekarriere und veröffentlichte bis 2017 insgesamt 14 Alben. 2011 gewann Lucinda Williams den 'Lifetime Achievement Award (Songwriting)' und ihr Album 'Down Where The Spirit trifft den Knochen' wurde 2015 zum 'Album des Jahres'. Neben diesen Preisen gewann sie drei 'Grammies' für ' Der beste Country Song 1993 ', das' Best Contemporary Folk Album 1999 'und mit dem Song' Get Right With God 'die' Beste weibliche Rock Vocal Performance 2002 '.
