Don Williams, the gentle giant of country music, has teamed up once again with award-winning producer Garth Fundis for “Reflections”, the follow-up to his 2012 comeback album “And So It Goes”.

Don Williams, a member of the Country Music Hall Of Fame, has earned his nickname with his dominance of the scene spanning decades. From the 1970s to the 1990s, he produced hit after hit. Despite his omnipresence, he impressed with his typical laid-back style and songs that crossed national and genre boundaries, just like Don Williams.

Now, two years after his comeback album “And So It Goes” made it possible to experience an artist who brought all his experience and passion to bear to follow up his numerous hits, “Reflections” is an album that impresses above all with its careful selection.

It includes songs of irresistible quality by legends such as Townes Van Zandt, Merle Haggard and Jesse Winchester. It takes a musician of the caliber of Don Williams to interpret these songs in the quality presented here.

Donald Ray Williams, der Riese mit der sanften Stimme, zählt zu den ganz großen Stars der 70er Jahre. Mit einem einfachen, transparenten sogenannten Laid-Back-Arrangement und einer tiefen, sanften Stimme schmeichelte er sich nicht nur bei den Country- sondern auch bei den Pop-Musik-Fans ein. Don Williams hatte als Mitglied bei der Pop-Folk-Gruppe Pozo Seco Singers begonnen. Zusammen mit Susan Taylor und Lofton Kline hatte Williams die Gruppe 1964 gegründet. Nach einem großen Erfolg 1965 mit dem Titel Time und ein paar kleineren Follow-Ups, lösten sich die Pozo Seco Singers 1971 auf. Don Williams zog sich nach Texas zurück, nur um wenig später als Songwriter nach Nashville zu ziehen. So ganz nebenbei begann er auch wieder zu singen und aus diesem Nebenbei wurde rasch ein Riesenerfolg. In den 70er Jahren kam jede seiner Singles unter die Country Top Ten und aus den Anfangserfolgen entwickelte sich eine Serie, die bis heute nicht abgerissen ist, auch wenn sich Don Williams seit 1986 etwas zurückzuziehen begann.
