The Wild Ponies have the honor of being the first release on the newly founded Continental Rose label to be at the center of great interest with their famous debut album. Continental Rose is a Dutch-German cooperation between the two companies Continental Record Services (CRS) and Blue Rose for promising new acts from the wider Americana, roots and singer/songwriter scene.

The trio from Nashville may not yet have the big name, but they leave nothing to be desired in terms of the quality of their song material and their musicality! They are the two protagonists and married couple Doug & Telisha Williams, who come from Virginia, were on the road as an acoustic folk duo for several years and released two independent albums during this phase in 2006 and 2009. Since 2011, the couple has been firmly anchored in the East Nashville community. Ditching their old folk past as Doug & Telisha, they went into the studio with Grammy-winning producer Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams) in 2013 to record all the basic tracks for the 12 numbers on their debut album in just three days. With drummer Jake Winebrenner and several well-known studio musicians, they moved quite far away from the former folk scenario and towards rough roots rock with rockabilly elements, “cry-in-your-beer” alt. Country, Neo Honky Tonk and twangy Country Rock.
