(Louisiana Records) 12 tracks, colored vinyl in blue

February 2, 1972, Christian Jespersen was sitting in his “youth room” in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he was supposed to be doing his homework. Instead, he was listening to Sveriges Radio, which was broadcasting the Wild Angels to an invited audience somewhere in Sweden. Fortunately, the teenager from Copenhagen recorded this as a mono track on a 4-track Tandberg tape recorder at 9.5 cm/sec.

Decades later, Christian exchanged some music files with fellow collector Per Jakobsen, who later kindly started to restore the tracks for this album. Per also exchanged music files with guitar pickin' and R'n'R fan Stephan Soppa from Germany. Stephan showed me the files and I came up with the idea of making a vinyl album out of them.

Jan, who some people may know as Johnny Valentine, immediately came to mind as he had done some great work with some Crazy Cavan vinyl reissues on his label Rebel Music. Jan was there and eventually I asked Perro Peligroso to remaster everything for a professional sound quality. I added the cover design to provide a visual trip back to the early days of the rock'n'roll revival. (Note that the lineup in the photo on the front cover is not exactly the lineup in the recording).

So, dear Rockers, Teds and Greasers, buckle up and enjoy the original sound of The Wild Angels!
