(Krazy Kat) 16 tracks. 1949-1952. The Great Gates is a fine blues singer whose blues recordings span the era 1949 to 1955. The tracks reissued here represent most of the earlier part of that period. All his early work is excellent, with his relaxed voice and fine backings, and he appears to have kept essentially the same band together from 1948 to early 1952.
