Drag-Strip tested! A fantastic West Coast rarity, Rev-Up is a mono masterpiece filled with harmony-laden hot rod vocals and powerhouse instrumentals!

Originally issued in January 1964...Rev-Up is waxed wildly by genre-legends such as Steve Douglas, Bruce Johnston, Jerry Cole & other studio king-pins including Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell, Tommy Tedesco, Leon Russell, and more - a Wrecking Crew who's who!

Appearing here in the valued mono mix-copies routinely sell for hundreds of dollars - Rev-Up is a gasser of a record, with Johnston hot off his recent hit with "Hey Little Cobra," ready to rumble with the cream of the hot rod club. Tracks from this album also appeared briefly on another '60s car-themed collection, but this is the premier set of mixes and tracks for this set of sessions, featuring the lone single issued in '63 as the Vettes, "Little Ford Ragtop" backed with "Happy Hodaddy (With Ragtop Caddy)."

Die Vettes sind eigentlich eine Familienband, aber lassen Sie sich nicht täuschen: Sie tanzen nicht und ihr Vater hat sie nicht als Kinder auf dem Dachboden mit den Instrumenten eingesperrt. "Um das Konzept vollständig zu verstehen, muss man zuerst die vorgefassten Vorstellungen von all den Stereotypen des wirklichen Lebens und fiktiven Familienbands, die wir alle kennen und hassen, ablehnen", sagt Rachel Vette, Leadsängerin und Schwester. Rachel, Todd, Chad, Brian und Mitch Vette, zusammen bekannt als The Vettes, sind alle Geschwister, wobei Mitch 2005, wenige Monate nach seinem Eintritt in die Band, als Ehrenbruder in die Familie "adoptiert" wurde; sie begannen als Teenager und Anfang der 20er Jahre zusammen aufzutreten, da jedes Geschwisterkind im selben Jahr individuell mit einer Leidenschaft für die Musik aufgeklärt wurde. Mit Einflüssen wie Aha, Flock of Seagulls, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Oasis und Elastica ist The Vettes das erste New Wave/Alternative/Rock-Outfit, das in den 80er Jahren entstanden ist. Seit 2005 prägen The Vettes die Szene ihrer Heimatstadt New Orleans, La und den USA und haben unzählige unbetitelte Demo-CDs veröffentlicht, bevor sie 2008 offiziell ihre TV-EP und 2010 ein Full-Length-Album PLASTICVILLE veröffentlichen.
