With “Appalachian Journey”, the trio of cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist and composer Mark O'Connor and double bassist and composer Edgar Meyer seamlessly builds on the success of their first CD “Appalachia Waltz”. This CD also presents a new kind of classical music that is strongly influenced by the sounds and structures of the American musical tradition. Vocally, the trio is supported on some tracks by singer-songwriter James Taylor and bluegrass-country singer Alison Krauss.
All recordings have been remastered using DSD technology.
