In 2025, Ace Records (in collaboration with Acid Jazz) shed new light on Spring Records’ illustrious catalogue with the ‘Spring Revisited’ project. The New York-based label Spring developed in tandem with the New York club scene – from underground loft parties and disco superclubs to hip-hop and the Paradise Garage. Within a very short space of time, an illustrious line-up of producers, including Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope, Dave Lee and Joe Claussell, delivered mixes that filled the dancefloors.

Dimitri’s and Joe’s mixes stormed the UK vinyl charts, with others hot on their heels. With ‘Spring Originals’, Ace presents the original versions of the tracks that were reimagined on the 12-inch singles and the accompanying compilation album from 2025. Ace has combed through the original tapes and unearthed not only the commercially released versions, but also mixes that were either never released before or could only be found on rare promo singles or B-sides. For example, Millie Jackson’s ‘We Got To Hit It Off’ can be heard here in the Jim Burgess mix, which was previously only available on a rare promo 12-inch single. The same applies to Joe Simon’s ‘Love Vibration’, whose disco mix was hidden on the B-side of a 7-inch single. A previously unreleased extended version of Fatback Band’s ‘Night Fever’ has been discovered, which begins with an incredible percussion break. The album features exceptional artwork modelled on the cover of ‘Spring Originals’, allowing you to complete your collection, and includes a detailed essay by Frank Tope.
