In 2025, Ace Records (in collaboration with Acid Jazz) shed new light on Spring Records’ illustrious catalogue with the ‘Spring Revisited’ project. The New York-based label Spring developed in tandem with the New York club scene – from underground loft parties and disco superclubs to hip-hop and the Paradise Garage. Within a very short space of time, an illustrious line-up of producers, including Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope, Dave Lee and Joe Claussell, delivered mixes that filled the dancefloors.

Between 1978 and 1988, European disco producers changed the face of pop music forever and created a golden era – far from the gaze of the US and UK pop charts.

Between 1978 and 1988, European disco producers changed the face of pop music forever and created a golden era – far from the gaze of the US and UK pop charts. Kano, Den Harrow and Gazebo scored hit after hit; their music spilled out of the clubs onto turntables across the entire continent – with classics such as ‘Another Life’, ‘Catch The Fox’ and ‘I Like Chopin’. Forty years on, these highly sought-after hits (and many more!) have been given a new lease of life thanks to streaming and a new generation of dancers – with a flair for the electrifying and the obscure.

The compilation ‘Promise Me Delight’ is a declaration of love for Italo disco and Euro-pop – and, at the same time, the imaginary soundtrack to those wild ’80s nights full of exuberant ecstasy.
