These much sought-after LPs are interesting in several respects, because they document the first “radio performances” of this repertoire from May 14-19, 1964 on the occasion of the 99 broadcasting hours of the “Sonderstudio DT64” as part of the Deutschlandtreffen - the birth of the youth radio station DT64.

The beat bands also performed live on these three days - above all the Sputniks, the Theo Schumann Combo and the Frank Echo Quintet. This is where the first beat songs became popular, which were consequently based on their international role models (e.g. The Ventures and The Shadows). Thanks to the craftsmanship of our beat combos, they don't have to shy away from comparisons with the originals, not least because of their own compositions, creative arrangements of cover versions and instrumental precision.
