It includes a superb 4,000-word four-page insert with period images and graphics by renowned blues historian Chris Bentley, detailing the origins of each artist and their influence on the wider music scene, as well as a full sessionography and discography detailing the where, when and who of the recordings, expertly compiled by blues luminary and author Mike Rowe.
This vinyl album is dedicated to the memory of the much loved and missed Peter Moody, who together with Wienerworld created the Down Home Blues series.

“The Beautiful Stuff” features 15 artists who recorded blues classics in Chicago between 1941 and 1961, almost all of whom played an important role in the heyday of the Chicago blues scene.
It includes a landmark recording by Jimmy Rogers as well as early recordings of classic down-home blues songs by Muddy Waters, Elmore James, J.B. Lenoir and Little Johnny Jones, and later tracks by established pre-war artist Robert Lockwood Jr. Also included are rare blues recordings by Blue Smitty and pianist Mata Roy.
