A Mighty Wind Is Blowing On This 1st Ever LP Reissue!

The key to the success of Christopher Guest's comedies is that he, harbors no particular affection or deep understanding for the targets of his lampooning. So while "A Mighty Wind" put the hopelessly stuffy excesses and petty jealousies of the early '60s folk movement on display for all to see, it also captured the naive, yes, but charming idealism of the era.

The resulting soundtrack album, of course, features fantastic work by Guest's amazing troupe of character actors (who also served as songwriters here), including Folksmen Michael McKean and Harry Shearer (playing acoustic versions of the instruments they played in Spinal Tap), Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Ian & Sylvia-esque Mitch & Mickey, and Jane Lynch and Parker Posey as part of the New Christy Minstrels parody "The New Main Street Singers."

"A Mighty Wind" also includes several tracks not in the film, including The Folksmen's hilarious rendition of "Start Me Up" by The Rolling Stones (you haven't lived until you've heard the line "you make a grown man come" in three-part folk vocals). First time LP reissue, pressed on forest green vinyl!
