Otis Taylor's psychedelic guitar player, one of label owner Fred Litwin's favorite blues guitarists. 'Always tasteful, yet unique and adventurous', that's how Litwin describes Turner 'live'. I have seen him play with Taylor, twice. I was shocked by Turner's cheap Hendrix imitations. Anyhow. He won't become my favorite blues guitar player with this release, either. Musicalwise, there are some nods to Otis Taylor like acoustic rhythm intros. As an electric guitar player Turner gets lost in his own mash of sound. On the other hand he's presenting unusual ideas and licks. Great: his re-make of Johnny 'Guitar' Watson's 'Gangster Of Love'. But the weakest part are his vocals. He sounds faint and monotonous. - Digipak. EDDIE TURNER - voc/gr, KENNY PASSARELLI - bass/kbds, MARK CLARK - drums.
