Whene these recordings were made by the young Bling Pig crew, Roosevelt Sykes was looking back on a career that spanned more than five decades. He made his first recordings for OKeh in 1929. During the 1930s and '40s he led a 12-piece r&b bigband. Until his death in 1983, he was entertaining crowds on both sides of the Atlantic. These beautiful recordings are showing a mature but young sounding artist, one of the best boogie, and blues piano players, ever, in front of an enthusiastic audience.
