The all-star debut of the Supersonic Blues Machine

They are the new supergroup of the blues scene: the Supersonic Blues Machine. But, as if a conglomerate of full-blooded blues professionals wasn't enough, the trio invited the crème de la crème of contemporary blues into the studio for their debut West Of Flushing, South Of Frisco.

First to the band's regular lineup: singer, songwriter and blues rock guitarist Lance Lopez got the ball rolling. Together with producer and bassist Fabrizio Grossi he started working on new songs some time ago. Since both harmonized so well, they made a joint project out of it. Further support was offered by drummer Kenny Aronoff, who has played for Bob Dylan, Elton John, Bob Seger, Joe Cocker and many others.

Grossi's contacts in the blues world eventually ensured that various other musicians got wind of the matter and joined the trio for West Of Flushing, South Of Frisco. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Walter Trout, Robben Ford, Eric Gales, Chris Duarte and Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers Band were also part of the group.

So it's no wonder that Grossi sees parallels to the Allman Brothers in terms of the album's sound. And so on West Of Flushing, South Of Frisco deep blues and fiery rock'n'roll skillfully balance each other out.
